Gap turfing / Spot turfing is normally used for large-scale infrastructure projects and erosion control on gentler slopes where an instant lawn is not required. Because the grass sods are planted with significant gaps, it is a more cost-effective method than close turfing, relying on the grass's natural ability to spread and cover the bare soil over time.
